General Waste Guidelines for Businesses

Commercial trash service is required for businesses and other occupied commercial premises in the City of Victorville. Businesses must also separate trash, recycling, food waste, and green waste into the proper designated containers in accordance with applicable state law and City requirements. Collection Guidelines

To help ensure your containers are serviced:

  • Make sure containers are accessible by 6 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day
  • Do not block containers with parked vehicles, equipment, or materials
  • Keep all trash, recyclables, food waste, and green waste inside the container
  • Do not place trash or salvageable items on the ground or in the enclosure area
  • Keep lids closed when containers are not in use
  • Do not overfill containers or allow materials to extend above the top of the bin

Container Types

Commercial customers must use City-provided or City-approved containers for collection service. Available container types include:

  • 95-gallon trash carts
  • 65-gallon recycling carts
  • 1.5, 2, 3, and 4 cubic yard dumpsters
  • 10, 20, 30, and 40 cubic yard roll-off boxes

Customer-provided compactor boxes may be used only if approved by Burrtec Waste in advance.

Overflow and Extra Service

If your containers are regularly over capacity, additional service, extra pickups, or larger containers may be needed. Extra pickups are available for a fee. If requested by noon, same-day service may be available; requests made after noon will be serviced the next day. Call the City Billing Division at (760) 955-5087 for your options.

What Not to Place in Commercial Containers

Do not place the following in trash or recycling containers:

  • Hazardous or toxic materials
  • Motor oil, batteries, paint, or pesticides
  • Tires
  • Cooking oil or grease
  • Large bulky or heavy items
  • Rocks, concrete, dirt, sod, or construction and demolition debris

Containers that are excessively heavy, contaminated, or improperly loaded may not be serviced as scheduled.

Missed Service or Damaged Containers

If a scheduled pickup was missed, report it as soon as possible. Containers may also be exchanged for damage such as broken lids, wheels, or leakage. Report Illegal Dumping or Scavenging

To report illegal dumping or scavenging from commercial containers, call the City of Victorville Environmental Programs Division at (760) 955-8615. During evenings or weekends, call police non-emergency dispatch at (760) 956-5001. To ensure your safety, please do not confront violators.
