Residential Recycling

The City of Victorville’s Environmental Programs Division helps residents reduce waste and recycle correctly through curbside recycling programs, education, and outreach. Residential recycling helps conserve resources, reduce landfill disposal, and keep recyclable materials in circulation.

Curbside Recycling

Residents can place accepted recyclables in their blue recycling cart for weekly collection. Please place carts at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled service day and leave at least 3 feet of space between carts and nearby vehicles or other obstructions.

What Goes in the Blue Cart

Accepted recyclables include:

  • Clean mixed paper
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Junk mail and envelopes
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Tin and aluminum cans
  • Aluminum foil and metal lids
  • Plastic bottles, jars, tubs, and trays labeled #1–#7

What Does Not Go in the Blue Cart

Do not place the following in recycling:

  • Plastic bags
  • Styrofoam
  • Paper towels, napkins, or other soiled paper
  • Diapers
  • Light bulbs, dishes, or window glass
  • Scrap metal
  • Food waste
  • Tires, carpets, or plastic toys

Per Victorville Municipal Code Chapters 6.36 and 6.37, recyclable and organic materials must be kept separate from trash and placed in their proper designated containers. Recyclables belong in the blue cart, organic materials belong in the green cart, and trash belongs in the black cart.
