Commercial Recycling

The City of Victorville’s Environmental Programs Division helps businesses recycle correctly through education, outreach, and program support. Proper recycling helps conserve resources, reduce landfill disposal, and keep recyclable materials in circulation.

Commercial Recycling Service

Businesses must place accepted recyclables in the proper designated recycling container. To help ensure collection, recycling containers should be accessible by 5:30 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day and should not be blocked by parked vehicles, equipment, or other obstructions.

What Goes in the Recycling Container

Accepted recyclables include:

  • Clean mixed paper
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Junk mail and envelopes
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Tin and aluminum cans
  • Aluminum foil
  • Plastic bottles, jars, tubs, and trays

Recyclables should be clean and placed in the proper recycling container.

What Does Not Go in the Recycling Container

Do not place the following in recycling:

  • Trash
  • Food waste
  • Hazardous waste
  • Plastic bags
  • Styrofoam
  • Grease or liquids
  • Dirt, rocks, or concrete
  • Tires
  • Large bulky items

Recycling containers should contain recyclable materials only and must be kept free of trash and other contaminants.

Per Victorville Municipal Code Chapters 6.36 and 6.37, recyclable and organic materials must be kept separate from trash and placed in their proper designated containers. Recyclables belong in the recycling container, organic materials belong in the organics container, and trash belongs in the trash container.

Cardboard and Overflow

Please break down cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling container. This helps maximize space and reduce overflow. If recyclable overflow becomes a recurring issue, additional service may be needed.
