Risk Management

The Risk Management Division processes claims for personal injury, property damage, or vehicle damage filed against the City of Victorville, the Victorville Water District, and the Southern California Logistics Airport.

All claims must be submitted in writing and completed in accordance with California Government Code Sections 900–915.4. In most cases, claims must be filed with the City Clerk no later than six (6) months from the date of the incident or event.

The claim form must be completed accurately, printed, and signed by the claimant. It should then be mailed or delivered in person to:

City of Victorville
Attn: City Clerk
14343 Civic Drive
Victorville, CA 92392-2399

Please include written justification for the amount claimed, along with any supporting documentation such as estimates, photographs, and copies of bills.

Once received, the original claim and supporting documents will be forwarded to Risk Management for processing. The City of Victorville is a member of the Public Entity Risk Management Association (PERMA), which provides third-party claims administration services to investigate and process claims. Written responses will be sent to the claimant by PERMA.

Claims investigations typically take 45 to 90 days to complete. However, depending on the nature and complexity of the claim, additional time may be required. For more information regarding claims procedures, please refer to California Government Code Sections 900–915.4.
