Residential Trash
The City of Victorville’s Environmental Programs Division helps residents properly manage household waste through curbside collection, education, and outreach. Residential trash service is an important part of keeping neighborhoods clean, safe, and well maintained.
Black Trash Cart Service
Residents may place regular household trash in their black cart for weekly collection. Please place carts at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled service day and leave at least 3 feet of space between carts and nearby vehicles or other obstructions.
What Belongs in the Black Trash Cart
The black cart is for regular household trash that cannot be recycled or composted. This includes items such as:
- Plastic cutlery, straws, and paper towels soiled with cleaning supply residue
- Plastic bags, film, cling wrap, and plastic packaging
- Clothing or rags that cannot be donated
- Snack and candy wrappers and chip bags
- Diapers and pet waste
- Styrofoam
- Gloves
Recyclables and organic waste must be placed in their proper carts and kept separate from trash.
What Does Not Belong in the Trash Cart
Do not place the following in any cart:
- Batteries
- Motor oil
- Paint
- Pesticides
- Needles or other sharps
These items should be taken to the Victorville Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection center for proper disposal. The City's HHW center is open to all San Bernardino County residents at 14889 Loves Lane, Victorville, CA 92392 and is open Wednesdays and Sundays only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For more information and guidelines, please visit the HHW page. Please do not place dirt, rock, concrete, or sand in carts. Carts that are too heavy will not be serviced.
