General Waste Guidelines

Trash service is required for all occupied premises in the City of Victorville. Each residence is required to have one black trash cart, one blue recycling cart, and one green organics cart for proper waste collection and separation. Collection takes place once per week on your scheduled service day. Please place carts at the curb by 6 a.m. and remove them within 12 hours after collection.

Set-Out Guidelines

To help ensure collection:

  • Place carts at the curb with the wheels against the curb and handles facing your home
  • Leave at least 3 feet of space between carts, vehicles, mailboxes, and other objects
  • Keep cart lids fully closed
  • Do not place trash on the ground next to the cart
  • Bag trash before placing it in the black cart to help reduce litter

Additional Trash, Organics, or Recycling Carts

Need more cart space? Additional trash carts are available for a monthly fee. The first extra recycling cart is free, and additional recycling carts are available for a small monthly fee. For extra organics, residents may place occasional overflow in their own plastic container, 35 gallons or smaller, next to the green cart. If extra organics are generated regularly, an additional green cart is available for an added charge. To request additional carts, contact City of Victorville Customer Service at (760) 955-5001.
