Street sweeping also helps prevent debris from entering the storm drain system, reducing water pollution and the risk of flooding.

How You Can Help
Residents can help reduce pollution by:
- Placing yard waste in the green waste bin
- Avoiding overwatering lawns and landscaping
- Keeping debris out of the street
Placing or sweeping debris into the street is not allowed and may result in fines.
Program Services
Street Sweeping crews:
- Clean and maintain City streets and rights-of-way
- Respond to emergency cleanups (accidents and spills)
- Support City events and special cleanup needs

Street sweepers typically operate at slow speeds to effectively remove debris.
Collected materials are processed to separate trash from reusable materials. Waste is disposed of properly, and usable materials may be recycled to reduce environmental impact.
