The surveyor’s office supports the Engineering Division and other departments with a wide variety of surveying services for municipal projects including: boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, preparation of topography maps for engineering designs, subdivision maps, record of surveys, and maintaining the City’s GIS survey control and vertical control networks (bench marks).  Surveying staff serves the public in checking private development subdivision maps, lot line adjustments, and easement documents, and legal descriptions submitted to the Development Department.   Staff will be happy to provide information regarding surveying related questions within the City.  The surveyor’s office is not employed to perform boundary surveys on privately owned property.
