Rental Property Businesses
Thank you for your interest in conducting business in the City of Victorville!
The following information will assist you with the application process through issuance of your Rental Business License.
- A separate Rental Business License for each property/parcel is required.
- Applications are processed in the order they were received and as quickly as possible. Due to required departmental reviews, possible related licensing documentation provided by the applicant, and a required external property inspection, Rental Business Licenses cannot be issued the same day. Ensuring you have the proper requirements completed, including a very detailed description of your business activity, as well as all document copies submitted will speed up the processing time, which typically runs 2 - 4 weeks.
- Fees cannot be paid until after your application has been reviewed. Once reviewed, an invoice will be auto-generated, and you will receive an automated email advising you that the fees are now available to be paid.
- Fees must be paid prior to processing the business license application. Once paid, the application will be processed and you may receive an email from the Business License Division if there are any required outstanding documents.
- Every rental property must have an initial inspection conducted by the Code Compliance Division. The inspection is external only; the tenants will not be disturbed, and the Property Owner is not required to be present. Inspections are scheduled by the inspecting Officer according to their availability. A Sample Inspection Checklist is available below under Additional Forms for your reference.
- Every rental property within Victorville City limits must obtain a Rental Business License.
- All correspondence must be done via email for record documentation purposes.

If you have received a letter from the Code Compliance Division about a possible rental property, or if you have an open Code Compliance case for a possible rental property, and your property is NOT a rental, please click on the Affidavit of Ownership and Use of Property Form below to complete and submit by the deadline date indicated in your letter.
