Home-Based Businesses

Thank you for your interest in locating and conducting your business out of YOUR HOME IN the City of Victorville! 

The following information is provided to guide you through the process of applying for and obtaining your Home-Based Business License.

  • Because your business address is located at your home within Victorville city limits, you must obtain a Home-Based Victorville Business License prior to conducting business.  A Business License must be applied for online through our Citizen Self Service webpage. 
  • Before beginning the application process, you must verify that your business type is compatible with the existing zoning for your proposed location.  Contact the Planning Division via phone at 760-955-5135 or via email at planning@victorvilleca.gov.
  • Home-based businesses must complete and submit a Residential Business Use(s) Acknowledgement Form located within the Business License application.  The Residential Business Use(s) Acknowledgement Form is also located below under Additional Application Forms and must be uploaded as an attachment when applying for a Home-Based Business License online.  It must be fully completed and have a real signature for both the property owner and business owner.
  • Applications are processed in the order they are received and as quickly as possible.  Due to required departmental reviews and related licensing documentation provided by the applicant, Home-Based Business Licenses cannot be issued the same day.  Ensuring you have the proper requirements completed, including a very detailed description of your business activity, as well as all document copies submitted, it will speed up the processing time, which typically runs 2 - 4 weeks.
  • Fees cannot be paid until after your application has been reviewed.  Once reviewed, an invoice will be auto-generated, and you will receive an automated email advising you that the fees are now available to be paid.
  • Fees must be paid prior to processing the business license application.  Once paid, the application will be processed and you may receive an email from the Business License Division if there are any required outstanding documents.
  • All correspondence must be done via email for record documentation purposes.
