VICTORVILLE, Calif. — On July 1, the City of Victorville launched a new pet licensing and lost-pet-recovery platform to offer residents an easier, convenient, and user-friendly method to license their pets. Implementation of the DocuPet platform is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to improve customer service, operational efficiency, and public safety.
The new registration platform offers a secure online portal that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and pets licensed through the system will have added protections offered by DocuPet’s HomeSafe® 24/7 Lost Pet Recovery Service.
“Licensing is an important responsibility for dog owners, but it should also provide peace of mind,” said Victorville Mayor Liz Becerra. “By partnering with DocuPet, we’re making the licensing process simple while ensuring local families have extra protection if their pet ever goes missing.”
Every licensed pet will receive a complimentary DocuPet identification tag containing a unique identification code linked to a secure online pet profile. If a pet becomes lost, owners can immediately create a Lost Pet Report through the system, triggering notification and recovery tools designed to reunite pets with their families. Community members who find a lost pet can use the tag information to quickly contact the owner or DocuPet’s 24-hour recovery team.
The system also provides automated license renewal reminders to prevent expired licenses and free pet identification tags with every license.
While the online platform emphasizes online convenience, residents who need assistance will continue to receive in-person support from City Staff at City Hall or the Animal Care and Adoption Center.
For safety, all dogs in the City of Victorville must be licensed and vaccinated against rabies. Cat licensing is voluntary but highly recommended to ensure their safety.
