Scavenging is the removal of materials from trash and/or recycling bins by someone other than the City’s service provider, Victorville Disposal. Per Victorville Municipal Code Sections 6.36.040 and 6.36.045, scavenging is illegal. Scavenging materials from your trash and recycle bins puts YOU at risk for identity theft. Allowing scavenging brings unknown individuals into your neighborhoods and risks your safety
We need your help to reduce and discourage scavenging. If you see scavengers, please do not give "permission" to remove materials from carts or bins at your home or business. DO NOT CONFRONT THE INDIVIDUALS. Try to obtain the vehicle license number, car description and individual description and report it to (760) 955-5095.
