Free Bulky Item Pickup for residents of single family houses with curbside service.

The Bulky Item Pickup service helps City residents dispose of larger items like furniture and appliances that cannot fit into trash or recycle barrels.  City of Victorville residents of single-family houses with curbside service, qualify for two (2) FREE Bulky Item Pickups per year of up to five (5) items per pick up.

Call Victorville Disposal at (760) 245-8607 to schedule a Bulky Item Pick-up for your home on your next trash service day.   Please have a list ready of the items for pick up.  Do not put any items out at the curb until you have called to schedule an appointment.  Items can only be placed out the night before scheduled pickup day.  You must have an appointment.

Free Bulky Item DROP-OFF* for all City of Victorville residents of single family houses, apartments, condos, and mobile home parks.

Whether you have used your full allotment of bulky item pickups, live in an apartment or multi-family complex, or it is just more convenient to drop off your old couch and mattress, the Bulky Item Drop-off Program works for you.  Just stop by our Victorville Recycling Drop-off Center, and we will take your bulky items as well as your recyclables.

We accept appliances, mattresses/box springs (see Note below), furniture, bed frames, toilets, dressers, desks, upholstered couches and chairs. For a printable flier, click here.

We also will accept up to five (5) passenger vehicle or light truck tires, on or off rim from City of Victorville residents only.  No semi tires or tires from businesses or haulers. 

NOT ACCEPTED at the Bulky Item Drop-off location is carpet or padding, wood waste, hazardous waste, dirt and rock, business materials, concrete, asphalt, bricks/block, bagged or boxed trash, construction materials, garden trimmings, extra trash, or similar items.

NOTE:  What About Soiled Mattresses or mattresses with Bed Bugs or Fleas?

Mattresses/box springs with bed bugs or fleas can still be accepted for bulky item pickup or free drop-off, HOWEVER, there is an extra step needed so they can be safely handled.  PLEASE PURCHASE A PLASTIC MATTRESS COVER AND COVER THE MATTRESS.  Use heavy duty masking tape or duct tape to secure the plastic cover.  This also applies to mattresses that are excessively soiled by blood or human or pet waste.

Plastic mattress covers are available from do-it-yourself moving companies (e.g. U-Hauls), as well as home improvement stores, or from online shopping sources.  (Look up “Plastic mattress bag covers.”)  The cost of a plastic mattress bag/cover is usually about $8-$10.  Please protect the health and safety of collection and disposal company employees by properly wrapping contaminated mattresses.  Your assistance and cooperation with these guidelines is greatly appreciated.

*NOTE You must provide proof of CURRENT City of Victorville residency including a valid photo ID and CURRENT utility, cable or phone bill showing City of Victorville service location to use the free Bulky Item Drop-off or the free tire disposal.  Residents of unincorporated areas, County areas, and Spring Valley Lake do not qualify for the free Bulky Item Drop-off or Tire Disposal Program, but can use the Drop-off Center to recycle appliances, cardboard, scrap metal, electronic wastes (TVs/computers), mattresses/box springs, and clothing.

Bulky Item Disposal for Businesses and Multi-family Dwellings

Businesses and multi-family dwellings can schedule Bulky Item pickup for a fee.  Contact City of Victorville Commercial Sanitation Division at (760) 955-5087. They will arrange a bulky item pickup at your business. Please have a list of the items you need picked up when you call.

Take Bulky Items To The County Landfill

If you have a lot of extra trash or bulky items and you’d like to get rid of it all at once, another option to consider is hauling it to the San Bernardino County Landfill yourself. You can dispose of up to 300 pounds of trash for only $13.39. For amounts over 300 pounds, the rate is $59.94 per ton. Tire disposal is $5.31 each for up to nine tires.

The County Landfill is located at 18600 Stoddard Wells Rd., north of Victorville. It is open 6 days per week from, Monday -Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
