Beat the Heat & Visit a Local Cooling Center

A heat advisory has been issued for Victorville and the surrounding area.  If you need some relief from the heat, the Victorville City Library is a cooling center.  It's open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday & Saturday  from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The library is located at 15011 Circle Dr.  Here's a list of Cool Places to Go throughout San Bernardino County.

Celebrate the 4th of July in Victorville

Bring the family out for the biggest and most spectacular fireworks show in the High Desert. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., gates open at 3 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free!  No pets, alcohol or BBQ's permitted. Tune into the Route 103.1 FM to hear the show!   As a friendly reminder, fireworks are prohibited in the City of Victorville.  Please leave the fireworks to the professionals.

July 4th Holiday:  City Hall Closed & Trash Service Delayed

In observance of our National Holiday, City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, July 4; and there will be no trash or recycling collection on July 4.  Service will be delayed one day for customers with pickup on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Victorville Task Force Confiscates 130 Pounds of Fireworks, Cites Four

In the first of several fireworks sweeps to be conducted this holiday season, the City's task force confiscated 130 pounds of fireworks, issued four citations and responded to 27 fireworks-related calls.  The task force will conduct additional sweeps through July 4 to enforce the City's ban on fireworks and to promote safety in our community.  Press Release

Victorville Task Force to Conduct Fireworks Sweeps

A task force comprised of Sheriff's Deputies, Code Enforcement Officers and Animal Control Officers will conduct sweeps throughout the City to locate and cite those using fireworks starting June 22.  All fireworks are illegal in Victorville.  Violators will be fined up to $1,000 and could receive up to six months in jail.  Press Release

Fireworks are Illegal in Victorville

All fireworks, even those considered safe and sane, are strictly prohibited in the City of Victorville.   Penalties include fines up to $1,000 and six months in jail.  As a safe alternative, attend our FREE fireworks show at the Fairgrounds on July 4th, and leave the fireworks to the professionals.  Press Release

Early Voting Available at City Hall  

Early voting has begun, and you can utilize the polling location in Conference Room D at City Hall.  Anyone registered to vote in the County of San Bernardino can use this polling location operated by the Registrar of Voters.  The hours are Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  On election day, they will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  You can drop of your completed ballot or vote on-site.

City Selects Greg Benson to Lead New Fire Department

After a nationwide search, we have selected Greg Benson to serve as Fire Chief for the City of Victorville Fire Department.  Benson is a former fire chief with more than 35 years of experience in the public safety sector and oversaw the formation of a fire department previously.  He will begin work on April 23.  Learn more about Chief Benson in our press release
