Road Closures for Victorville Face Mask Giveaway

WHAT: Roads Closed to Through Traffic

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 29 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Civic Drive between Seneca Road and Ramona Avenue and West Sage Street between Park Avenue and Civic Drive

DESCRIPTION: This Saturday, Aug. 29, the City of Victorville is hosting a drive thru face mask giveaway in front of City Hall on Civic Drive. All lanes on Civic Drive between Seneca Road and Ramona Avenue will be used for the giveaway and therefore closed to through traffic from approximately 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 29. West Sage Street from Park Avenue to Civic Drive will also be closed during this same timeframe.

Motorists not planning to participate in this drive thru event should take alternate routes.

Signs will be in place directing attendees to cue into place beginning at Civic Drive and Seneca Road then proceed South on Civic Drive toward Amargosa Road. Those planning to attend the giveaway are asked to use caution when traveling in the area near this event.

The City of Victorville plans to giveaway nearly 187,000 face masks during this drive thru event from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees must provide proof of Victorville residency such as a water bill in order to receive the free, three-ply masks that were donated by local plastic extruder, Everrank Inc. Each vehicle will be given one pack containing 36 adult masks and 12 child masks.

City staff will also be onsite to assist individuals who need to complete the Census prior to the Sept. 30 deadline. Additional free giveaways will be available for those who complete the Census during this event.

Additional information about the face mask giveaway can be found on the City’s website.

Questions can be directed to (760) 241-6365.
