CITY OF VICTORVILLE SEEKING PARTICIPATION IN MEASURE P OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
Residents invited to apply for education stakeholder representative position

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – The City of Victorville is now accepting applications from qualified residents representing education to serve on its oversight committee for Measure P, the City’s general transaction and use tax approved by Victorville voters in November 2020. The oversight committee’s purpose is to review revenue and expenditures to ensure Measure P tax revenue is expended efficiently and effectively.
The Measure P Oversight Committee is comprised of residents representing community stakeholder groups and works in coordination with City of Victorville staff. Applicants are sought to serve in the vacant position representing the local education community stakeholder group.
Those interested in being considered to serve on the Measure P Oversight Committee must submit the online application available on the City of Victorville website no later than April 21. The application and selection requirements, as outlined in the Measure P Oversight Committee Bylaws, are available at VictorvilleCA.gov/mpoc.
A selection committee will review the applications submitted and make recommendations to the City Council. Updates will be available at VictorvilleCA.gov/mpoc.
Measure P, Victorville’s Public Safety & Essential Municipal Services General Transaction and Use Tax, is a general sales tax measure approved by Victorville voters in the November 3, 2020 election. This one-cent sales tax took effect on April 1, 2021, increasing Victorville’s sales tax from 7.75 to 8.75 percent. The sales tax revenue is collected at the point of sale and remitted to the Tax Equalization Board, then forwarded to the City quarterly.
