Lane Closures Schedule for Bear Valley Road Widening Project: Dec. 27 – Dec. 29 & Jan. 3 – Jan. 5

WHAT: Temporary Lane Closures Due to Bridge Widening Project

WHEN: Dec. 27 through Dec. 29 and Jan. 3 through Jan. 5

WHERE: Bear Valley Road Between Industrial Road and Ridgecrest Road

DESCRIPTION: The widening of the Bear Valley Road Bridge continues. Temporary lane closures to Bear Valley Road between Industrial and Ridgecrest Road are planned for Dec. 27 through Dec. 29 and Jan. 3 through Jan. 5 as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 27:
-9 p.m. to 7 a.m.: The two right-most travel lanes headed Eastbound on Bear Valley
Road will be closed.

Wednesday, Dec. 28:
-9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: The right-most travel lane headed Eastbound on Bear Valley Road
will be closed.
AND
-9 p.m. to 7 a.m.: The two right-most travel lanes headed Eastbound on Bear Valley
Road will be closed.

Thursday, Dec. 29:
-8 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Travel Lanes will be reduced to one or two lanes in each direction on
Bear Valley Road.

Tuesday, Jan. 3:
-8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The right-most travel lane in each direction on Bear Valley Road will be closed.

Wednesday, Jan. 4:
-8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The two right-most travel lanes headed Westbound on Bear Valley Road will be closed.

Thursday, Jan. 5:
-8 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The right-most travel lane headed Westbound on Bear Valley Road will be closed.


Motorists are strongly encouraged to utilize alternate routes. Those who must travel in the vicinity of this road improvement project are urged to use extreme caution and to obey all posted signs and devices and instructions of crew working at the site. Delays can be expected.

These planned lane closures are part of a larger project undertaken by the City of Victorville to improve travel on Bear Valley Road. The bridge between Industrial Boulevard and Ridgecrest Road is being widened, and a double turn lane is being added from Eastbound Bear Valley Road to Ridgecrest Road to alleviate traffic congestion at this busy intersection.

The total cost of this project is estimated at just under $10 million and is being funded through Road Development Impact Fees and federal dollars. Barring delays, construction is expected to be complete in Summer 2023.
