City of Victorville Announces Availability of Funding for Community Planning and Development Grant Programs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 21, 2022

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Today, the City of Victorville announced the availability of over $1.9 M for Community Planning and Development programs and projects for fiscal year 2023/2024. These funds are provided by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Programs. Applications are available through the City website, by telephone, or by email.

As an entitlement city with HUD, the City of Victorville receives the federal funding for distribution to eligible nonprofits and service programs that benefit Victorville residents. CDBG funds are to be used to provide a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities for low- to moderate-income individuals, while HOME funds are intended to provide decent affordable housing in the community.

Applications will be evaluated for eligibility based on priorities and objectives outlined in the application instruction package that is provided with the application package.

City staff will provide three technical assistance workshops to aid in the preparation of applications. All parties interested in applying, are required to attend at least one workshop provided by the City. More information can be found on the City’s website at vv.city/nofa.

Original, hard copies of the application must be returned to the City of Victorville Planning Department via mail, courier, or in person no later than 3 p.m. Friday Jan. 20. Late, emailed, or faxed applications will not be considered.
