City of Victorville to Host FREE Water Conservation Workshop in Spanish

CITY OF VICTORVILLE TO HOST WATER CONSERVATION WORKSHOP
Free workshop on Oct. 18 to be presented in Spanish

Victorville, Calif. – The City of Victorville will host a free water conservation workshop on Friday, Oct. 18 that will be presented entirely in Spanish. The workshop will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room D at Victorville City Hall, located at 14343 Civic Dr.

This hands-on workshop is free and open to Victor Valley residents who are 18 and older. Children from 12 to 17 years old may attend the workshop with a parent or guardian. Registration is required and available online at on the City's website or by calling (760) 955-2016.

The guest speakers will be Tony Walters and Luis Cortes from the Mojave Desert Resource Conservation District. Workshop attendees will learn landscape design principals and water conservation strategies including the use of mulches and soil amendments, the causes and effects of soil erosion, and basic grading and drip irrigation design.

Mark and Nellies Nursery & Landscape, Imperial Sprinkler Supply, and Fireman Rock and Nursery have donated supplies for workshop demonstrations and raffle prizes. Participants must be present to win.

Refreshments will be served and each attendee will receive a reusable canvas shopping bag filled with landscaping, recycling, and water conservation materials while supplies last.
