Victorville Fire Department Dispatched to House Fire on Loves Lane

VICTORVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT DISPATCHED TO HOUSE FIRE ON LOVES LANE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 29, 2019

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – The Victorville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 15048 Loves Lane in Victorville at 4:19 a.m. on April 24. Flames were visible to responding crews. Upon arrival, Victorville Fire units found a vacant home that was fully involved in fire with flames through the roof. Crews controlled and extinguished the fire. The structure was heavily damaged with the roof burned off. Cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.

A total of four engines, one truck, one squad and one BC responded. Victorville Fire was assisted by units from Apple Valley, CalFire and the Sheriff’s Office.

The history of the Victorville Fire Department dates back to 1926 when the Victorville County Fire Protection District was established. In 1930, the Victorville Volunteer Fire Department was established. In 1976, approximately 14 years after Victorville was incorporated, control of the Victorville Fire Protection District was assumed by the City of Victorville. In March 2019, the City of Victorville re-established its Fire Department after contracting the fire services for 10 years. The Victorville Fire Department is staffed with 60 personnel, and the department is led by Fire Chief Greg Benson.
