- Introduction: The City of Victorville will recognize local student Penelope Trylch as winner of its annual Civil Rights Memorial Essay Contest and dedicate a bronze plaque honoring the subject of Penelope’s essay, Harriet Tubman at the City's Memorial.
Join us as we recognize the winner of our Annual Civil Rights Memorial Essay Contest, Penelope Trylch. Hear Penelope read her winning essay, and celebrate with us as we unveil the bronze plaque honoring the subject of her winning essay, Harriet Tubman.
The unveiling ceremony will take place during the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We extend a special thank you to the Dreamers, Visionaries & Leaders Project and Desert Valley Hospital & Medical Group for sponsoring the bronze plaque honoring Harriet Tubman!
