Dr Pepper Plant Taking Applications in first Phase of Hiring

Victorville, CA—High Desert residents are being sought to fill the first 90 of 200 jobs for the new Dr Pepper Snapple West Coast manufacturing and distribution facility  currently under construction in Victorville.   On-line applications, are currently being accepted according to Chris Barnes, Manager of Corporate Affairs.

According to Barnes, the 90 positions include 24 different jobs such as forklift operators, warehouse jobs, materials handlers, quality control technicians among others.

Located at Southern California Logistics Airport, the 120 million Dr Pepper Snapple plant is set to open in early 2010.  It will be the company's Western hub in a regional manufacturing and distribution footprint, serving consumers in California and parts of the desert Southwest. The company will produce a wide range of soft drinks, juices, juice drinks, ready-to-drink teas, energy drinks and other premium beverages at the Victorville plant.

The DPS plant is part of an 8,500-acre master planned multimodal freight transportation hub developed on the site of the former George Air Force Base and supported by air, ground and rail connections. The plant will consist of an 850,000-square-foot building on 57 acres, including 550,000 square feet of warehouse space, and a 300,000-square-foot manufacturing plant with five manufacturing lines.
