About Council Member Negrete
Eric Negrete is a Project
Manager for the Department of the Army at Fort Irwin & the National
Training Center (NTC), California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration (1993) from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles
and his Master’s Degree (1998) in Management from Troy State University.
Eric began his
professional career in Encino, California in 1994 working for a
commercial/industrial real estate company. He has land acquisition and project
management experience on a variety of development projects in the Inland
Eric has a combined
eleven years of military experience with the Air Force and the Army. He has
seven years at Fort Irwin, specifically in support of NTC mission training programs.
His primary areas of focus are infrastructure improvements and military
construction projects. He developed, staffed and coordinated the Fort Irwin
Land Expansion Program which took the Department of the Army’s vision and
designed a plan to modernize ranges and the maneuver training area by adding
70,000 acres of training land to the NTC. Eric provides subject matter
expertise to support the NTC Command Group and is recognized as a trusted
advisor to NTC and Department of the Army staff. His current projects include a
58,000 square foot aviation hangar and a 15MW solar plant at Fort Irwin.
Eric grew up in Victorville
attending Hook Junior High School and Victor Valley High School. He has
volunteered for a number of youth sports organizations over the past 12 years.
Eric was elected to the
Victorville City Council in November 2014.
He has been appointed as the an alternate delegate for the Victor Valley
Transit Authority Board, the Mojave Desert and Mountain Solid Waste JPA and the
Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District Board.
In May, 2015 Eric was appointed
by Board of Supervisors Vice-Chairman, Robert Lovingood to serve as a member of
the San Bernardino County Veterans Advisory Committee.
